The first events in Redding’s huge spring festival, the Kool April Nites classic car show, will drive out this week. We have some large events posted in the magazine that are for profit, and we appreciate that they do spend money to help support the publication. Well over 95% of the listings are for smaller events that help out church missions, pet rescues, cancer research and even scholarships. Over the 15 years of doing this, millions and millions of dollars have been collected and donated to a charity from show promoters.

The Custom & Classic Car Educational Foundation is celebrating its 10th year since inception and the Car Show & Cruise Guide in now in its 15th year. Both are big milestones; one for car nuts to get their show information, and the other for having an organization dedicated to helping to save your favorite hobby. Also, Block-a-Chip will present a Super Car Showcase featuring exotic supercars from around the world, the release stated. North State classic rock tribute band Jinx takes the stage from 7 p.m. Sing along to high-energy favorites by the Cars, Pat Benatar, Pink Floyd, Joan Jett, Billy Idol, John 'Cougar' Melencamp and other '70s and '80s rockers. Kool April Nites' main event is the Big Show and Shine from 7 a.m.
